#1 This Wednesday (3/18/15), we will be meeting at the church @7 PM and finishing the Family Life merit badge with Sister Harker. You'll need you worksheet completed, your personal project, your family project and the chore chart signed off by your parents.
#2 I know some of you received partials at Scoutcamp for the Cooking merit badge. I have attached the Cooking merit badge worksheet. Please refer to that worksheet for more clarification. The scouts that received partials still need to complete requirements #1d, 2a-d, 3b, 5a-f, 6a-b, 7c-e, 8. Going on the campout this month will satisfy requirement 7c-e.
#3 I know some are interested in the Aviation Merit Badge. Resistration opens tomorrow. See below. Registration is at the website http://www.cpcbsa.org/ . Find "Event Registration" under the Quick Links:

Calling on all Scouts
The Cascade Pacific Council is teaming up with Horizon/Alaska Airline for a two-day Aviation Merit Badge event. The dates of this event will be Fridayevening, May 15th and Saturday May 16th, 2015. Registration for the event opens March 14, 2015. Scouts must be age 12 or older by the day of the event. Registration fee is $15.00. Merit Badge Counselors Needed We are in need of Aviation Merit Badge Counselors for this event. Horizon/Alaska Airlines and the Council's goal are to have 50 Aviation Merit Badge Counselors available for this event. If you are interested in assisting as an Aviation Merit Badge counselor, please contact Rob McDonald at 503-245-2564 (home) or mwolfbee@comcast.net as soon as possible. |
#4 The Stake is doing a Merit Badge Fair at the Stake Center onSaturday March 21st starting at 9 AM and going to 1 PM. They will be offering Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Family Life, First Aid and Personal Management. This is open to 11 year old scouts and older. Each session will be around two hours so each scout can be involved with two merit badges. I would highly encourage your scouts participation in this merit badge morning. This could be very helpful in completing unfinished merit badges or partials and/or starting required merit badges to earn the Eagle rank as all of the merit badges being offered are required.
#5 Backpacking Campout Friday and Saturday March 27-28. We will be meeting at the church at 3:45 PM. We will be returning Saturday mid to late morning.
#6 Everyone going to Scoutcamp is required to have a physical, no exceptions. Attached is the BSA medical forms that are required. No other forms will be accepted. Parents fill out Parts A & B and the physician fills out Part C. Please have your scouts physical to me by my deadline of July 5th, 2015. All BSA Medical forms/physicals are valid for 1 year. Adults and leaders that are planning on going need Parts A & B if going for less than 72 hours and Parts A, B and C if going for more than 72 hours.
If you have any questions and/or concerns, please let me know. Thanks.
Bro. Trevor Allen
Scoutmaster
